1&1 Introduces Free Dynamic Content Catalog
Gives Web Sites Fresh, Real-Time Content From Numerous Topic Areas
Automatically Updated; No Maintenance Required
PHILADELPHIA, April 26, 2005 – 1&1 Internet, Inc., has introduced an exclusive, first-of-its
kind Web content tool that allows users to increase the value of their Web pages by easily adding informative and entertaining content at no charge.
The 1&1 Dynamic Content Catalog gives users the ability to enhance the professional appearance of their Web sites by adding timely and relevant content from major
news and information sources within a variety of subject categories, such as: news, finance, sports, entertainment, health, science, high tech, travel, games and
weather. A travel agency, for example, can offer current weather and other information about popular destinations, or a sporting goods store can provide the latest
scores.
“Dynamic Content Catalog is a major step toward giving business customers, and even our private users, the ability to compete with the ‘big players’ in their
respective categories,” said 1&1 Chairman of the Board Andreas Gauger. “It’s a no-cost, low-maintenance way to drive people to your site and then greet them with a
unique and sophisticated presentation when they get there. And since the information is automatically updated and refreshed, chances increase that they’ll visit
again.”
The weather information available through the Dynamic Content Catalog is provided by AccuWeather; while news and a majority of the other material is sourced from the
Associated Press.
Incorporating information from the 1&1 Dynamic Content Catalog involves little more than adding a link; it requires no programming skills or special software. Its
automatic update feature means the content refreshes itself and is basically maintenance-free.
For optimal performance, information from each of the available modules within 1&1’s Dynamic Content Catalog can be customized to best suit individual Web sites.
Font size and color, along with background appearance, are all easily configurable from the users’ control panel. In addition, customized style sheets can be used
to create content integration.
The new Content Catalog is available with each of 1&1’s Home, Business and Developer packages, in addition to its Managed Server I, II and III packages for both
Microsoft and Linux. Existing subscribers will automatically receive the Content Catalog option.
Gauger said the 1&1 Dynamic Content Catalog is simply the latest offering in the company’s long list of value-added services.
“Fresh, updated content like that which we’re offering is extremely valuable—and usually quite expensive” he said. “We are providing it to our customers free of
charge as another of the many tools we offer to easily and affordably establish a harder working Web site.”
